"Born in 1971 in Okinawa Japan I currently live and work in downtown Manhattan.  My paintings are inspired by found photographs. I feel that to find a lost photo, and paint it allows the photo or "memory" to have a second life. I make a college from found photos and then I use the college as a reference to paint from and I use only black paint on a white gessoed panel. Most of my subject matter in the paintings are satirical commentaries of things going on in or around my life.  Artist Statement courtesy of Saatchi Art.
